Since 2019, Fit for Joy online has helped thousands rediscover joy through accessible programs and resources: our podcast "A Quest for Well-Being" (over 400K downloads) and "The Freedom to Feel" video series (over 1.6M views).
These programs, along with community partnerships and holistic services, give trauma-impacted adults the tools to heal and help young people build resilience and healthy lives.
Kaua'i JOYLAB is an extension of Fit for Joy online—a nature-centered retreat hub that connects well-being practitioners to serve those in need, share expertise, pilot evidence-based practices, and scale interventions in healing, resilience, and ecological stewardship.

- ABOUT SACRED GEOMETRY & THE FLOWER OF LIFE -
The design of our space is inspired by the Flower of Life—a sacred‑geometry pattern rooted in nature. Its interlocking circles evoke harmony and interconnectedness, creating a sense of balance and calm throughout the environment.
Sacred geometry studies the spiritual and aesthetic significance of shapes and proportions. The Flower of Life is a visually striking example: its repeating structure suggests the same organizing patterns found in nature, from cellular forms to floral arrangements and hexagonal lattices.
Many traditions hold that these geometric patterns support the smooth flow of energy and foster well‑being; whether experienced visually or spatially, the motif invites presence, clarity, and equilibrium.
Beyond its beauty, the Flower of Life carries profound symbolic meaning. It points to the interconnectedness of all life and the idea that diverse forms arise from a single source—reminding us of our shared origin and boundless creative potential.
By incorporating this pattern into our design, we aim to create a welcoming space that honors that interconnection, supports restorative practice, and inspires a deeper relationship with the world around us.
- ABOUT VALERIA -
Founder, Executive Director, and Board Chair of FIT FOR JOY: Garden of Well-Being — 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Author, Facilitator
Valeria is a dedicated advocate for wholehearted living and a devoted messenger of joy. After years of trauma, she longed to feel joy again —until curiosity and courage led her to the path she calls “joy‑recovery.”
By listening to her intuition, cultivating healthy habits, and engaging in healing modalities and spiritual practices, she experienced deep transformation.
Inspired, she wrote three books on self‑love, inner peace, & joy and launched Fit for Joy, an online community of hundreds of well‑being practitioners and authors.
Over six joyful years of collaboration, her podcast has reached thousands, and she was humbled by a Helen Keller Award nomination in 2025. Since discovering that joy can be cultivated and is always available, she lives guided by intuition, gratitude, compassion, creativity, and love—and she helps others find nourishing paths to well‑being.
