Kat is a change agent, author, and educator who worked with corporations and individuals to help them implement change for over forty years. She wrote Winning the Change Game: How to Implement Information Systems With Fewer Headaches and Bigger Paybacks in 1987 to introduce her Change Model which reflected her deep understanding of the Hero’s Journey.
The 4000 year-old Hero’s Journey had become part of her life in 1961 when she serendipitously stumbled into a Mythology course her freshman year in college, and her life has been and still is a series of Hero’s Journeys ever since.
Kat left the corporate and consulting world in 2006 to write Choosing To Be: Lessons in Living from a Feline Zen Master to help her recover from Chronic Fatique Syndrome by learning how to meditate. The book was picked up by Findhorn Press, translated to Dutch and Chinese, and continues to travel the world helping people learn to meditate and overcome depression
She began a radio show called Finding Magic in Midlife in 2008 to interview well-known women from a variety of disciplines and explore how they navigated and thrived through major changes in their lives.
Then Kat began developing online programs like Choosing To Be Fit: The Art of Taking Small Steps to Transform Your Life in 2013, all of which have led to her current work — teaching the Hero’s Journey that has been part of her life since college and teaching the Resilience Skills that are the result of her six years of research.
Kat’s focus these days is on her Awakening Your Hero’s Journey and Becoming a Resilient Hero programs, to help people learn how they can create their own road maps and develop the resilience skills they need to become their own heroes in these turbulent times.
Kat studied English Literature, Mythology, and Philosophy for her B.A. at Mary Washington College in Virginia, and studied Organization Development, Finance, and Organization Behavior for her MBA. at Pepperdine University in California.
