— In her memoir, Ilana Rowe weaves anecdotes, reflections, facts, poetry, dreams, and humor to chronicle her 11-year journey of supporting her husband, Hal, as they walked the path of Alzheimer’s together, hand-in-hand, heart-to-heart. Ilana shares her experience of being a care partner, facing her fears, sorrow, and vulnerability during this heart-breaking illness.

Her stories reflect moments that sustain and teach her something new about compassion, kindness, renewal, acceptance, and patience. This love story is about making difficult decisions, arriving at a balance between caring for a loved one and self-care and discovering deeper levels of meaning.  It is laced with serendipitous experiences that transcend reason and logic.”

Valeria Teles interviews Ilana Rowe— the author of “Sacred Stories: A Care Giver’s Journey Through Alzheimer’s.”
