Healing Trauma With Dance & Movement Therapy
Healing Conversation #977
— “Change is movement, and in order to create change there has to be both internal and external movement in the body. As our bodies carry us through life, becoming curious about our relationship to ourselves, sensations and feelings that arise within us moment to moment, can help us become more aware of the information we hold internally. Dance was something that always resonated with Rebecca. Moving and being creative helped her process much of her life. Throughout the last year there has been collective trauma that has greatly impacted our everyday life, our ability to express and specifically our movement. Routines, normalcy, and connection have been altered in such a way that Rebecca feels there is a need for reconnection, starting with ourselves.”
