Bringing Awareness To Every Aspect Of Ourselves

Art Therapist, Psychotherapist, Author, Artist, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, And Speaker

Healing Conversation #948

— “The human body is an incredibly intelligent vessel that reflects whatever is going on emotionally and mentally. Every day there is more research and evidence on the implausible connection between the emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical health, and how one cannot work well without the others. We cannot afford to dismiss any of these aspects within ourselves. Once you start your journey towards healing, forgiveness and a re-connection with Self, your body will respond accordingly. In the words of Dr. Gabor Maté: “You cannot disconnect the mind from the body”. “As within, so without.”” — Writes Sarah

Valeria interviews Sarah Dakhili  — the author of “ Coming To Life: A Journey From Fear To Love And Growth.”

Sarah is also an Art Therapist, Psychotherapist, Artist and accredited Mental Health Social Worker, based in Brisbane, Australia. She the founder of Mental Awakening, a clinic where she works at grassroots level with people who struggle with chronic illness, chronic pain, trauma and other various mental health issues. These are matters that Sarah had significant personal experience in and which she has shared about in her book Coming to Life.

Sarah has been working within the field of trauma recovery and mind-body disorders for over a decade, specializing in chronic pain and Tension Myositis Syndrome – TMS (basing her approach on Dr. John Sarno and Dr. Howard Schubiner’s research on Mind Body Disorders – MBD). Her clients are based all over Australia as she offers face-to- face and Telehealth Counselling sessions (over phone/video). Her motto is simple: “Supporting clients in creating authentic power within themselves and in turn being able to make what was once difficult, easier”.

Sarah’s interest lies in helping her clients feel heard, understood, and supported so they can start to connect with their true nature and learn to live their lives from a space of love as opposed to fear. She is a great believer that life is a mirror and that our outer world reflects our inner world and once we start to understand that we have so much more power than we can imagine. Sarah is passionate about helping clients achieve meaningful connections, assisting them to reconnect and work towards developing a closer, stronger, and more secure relationship with themselves and their body. It is her aim to support clients with experiencing a new reference point for happiness and to overcome struggles, feel fulfilled and develop enhanced self-compassion, irrespective of adversity. For Sarah, life is about growth and expansion. Her focus lies in remaining present with her clients while creating a fully open and authentic space where healing can take place.

She is a big believer that creativity helps us crack open the original and powerful energy of our soul and move into a space where we can be authentically ourselves, without fear or comparison. Most of all she believes that creativity has the power to heal, transform, awaken, and empower. Her art therapy workshops dive deep into this practice and introduce people to how powerful and healing, art can be. Her art is often inspired by, and represents, the various paths, chapters, experiences, and patterns of behavior that human beings go through in their lifetime as they seek to be united with their true nature (the authentic Self).
