Karina will be donating 100% of her poetry book, “Loving Yourself Into Being” (amazon.com/dp/1734614307), to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund (www.naacpldf.org) for the month of June. With the current Black Lives Matter movement and social change in general, Karina believes that we can all contribute in our own way—by speaking out with our art, passion and livelihood—which is better than being silent out of fear of being criticized or misjudged. It is important that we be courageous by sharing what’s on our minds, and equally important to be open to constructive feedback—this is how we learn and grow.
Karina hopes that these poems can help bring us back to our own humanity, back to ourselves, and back to the beauty and love that is innate within each and every one of us. May they recharge and heal you so that you have greater energy to contribute to a better, united, more just and loving world.
INTERVIEW INFO
Valeria Teles interviews Karina Hsieh.
Karina wrote the book: Loving Yourself Into Being: Poems on Self-Love & Compassion with the intention of displaying various aspects of Love and cultivating your own self-love and compassion so that you awaken to the magic within yourself and your life.
These poems are there when you want to feel loved or remember your own deep capacity for compassion, kindness and Love. They are designed to dance playfully across the pages to bypass your brain and nestle into your heart.
Karina Hsieh grew up in Oakland, California. She studied Psychology at Harvard and worked as a "Happiness Engineer" in Silicon Valley before backpacking solo around the world for 1-1/2 years to cultivate her own self-love and compassion. She craves exponential growth and perpetually follows Love, especially self-love, as her North Star. When she's not writing, you can find her dancing, singing, traveling, teaching fitness classes, or unmasking miracles hidden in plain sight.
